The Sycamore men's basketball team opens home play Sunday against North Texas.
ISU is 0-1 this season after losing to Northern Illinois in the regular season opener Tuesday.
The North Texas Mean Green is 1-1 this season after beating Cameron and losing to Oklahoma State.
Sophomore guard Josh White leads the Mean Green with an average of 17.5 points per game. North Texas also has two other players averaging in double digits in points per game: sophomore guard Tristan Thompson with 11 and senior guard Adam McCoy with 10.
As a team, North Texas scores 87.5 points per game and gives up 83 points per game.
In ISU's 86-79 loss to Northern Illinois, junior guard Rashad Reed paced the Sycamores with 21 points in his 33 minutes of playing time. Four of the top five players in playing time for that game for ISU were new players to the team: Reed, freshman guard Carl Richard, junior forward/ center Josh Crawford and freshman guard Tyler Cutter. Sophomore guard Aaron Carter was the aberration to this as he played for 26 minutes, while scoring 15 points.
Sophomore forward Isiah Martin was kept pretty quiet in his 13 minutes of playing time with two points. Senior forward/ center Jay Tunnell played 21 minutes and scored 14 points and pulled down seven rebounds.
The game against North Texas starts a two-game homestand for the Sycamores as they play Murray State Wednesday. Tip-off is at 2 p.m. in Hulman Center and game will be on WTWO and aired on ESPN Radio.
