The Indiana State Board of Trustees approved a contract extension for Sodexho Campus Services to provide dining services for an additional four years to ISU.
The lastest contract with Sodexho began July 1, 2002, and will end June 30, 2006.
Sodexho provides dining services in the Sycamore Towers dining, the Lincoln Quads, the HMSU Commons, concessions in the Hulman Center and catering services for special events on campus.
Reed Kidder, associate vice president of student affairs and auxiliary services for Indiana State, said the goals for the contract extension on campus are to see numerous changes in the residence halls and Commons in the coming years, depending on budget planning.
Kidder said there would be student focus groups formed to determine what is important to students.
Kidder said Sodexho has felt some of the effects of the declining enrollment at ISU, but continues to have a strong partnership with the university.
According to a Board of Trustees document, a committee representing students, faculty and staff met to consider factors that would determine the renewal of the existing dining contract. The committee agreed that the current partnership is strong, and Sodexho's vision will ensure that the dinning services will remain progressive and competitive.
The contract renewal will begin July 1, 2006, and will be in effect through June 30, 2010.
Sodexho has provided dining services to ISU since July of 1989.
