Sandison Hall is the newest building on campus to get a facelift and will reopen in the fall of 2010.

Sandison closed after the 2005-06 school year due to falling enrollment numbers.

Assistant vice president in charge of student affairs and auxiliary services Mary Ellen Linn said its opening in August of 2010 could be something the contractors do in steps, relinquishing one floor at a time to the university so ISU can get the floors ready to be occupied.

Kent Waggoner, director of the Career Center, only wants to take eight hours of a student's college life.

That breaks down to one hour every semester during which a student would meet with one of many career counselors to discuss a plan for the student.

Long-distance commuters can have the hardest lives of all college students.

They have to deal with 30 to 45 minute commutes on top of the normal stresses of college life (I even have a friend who commuted from Bloomington to ISU, over an hour travel time).

Segue is upon us all. The end of senior year is here and the next chapter begins. I am preparing to pack my personal things that I can't live without, like the jeans with the holes in them, the photograph of a dolphin and me meeting in 68-degree water at the Miami Seaquarium and sneakers that I just can't throw away.

College. When I thought about that word two years ago, it brought a lot of nervous, anxious and excited feelings to mind. Now that I have completed two years, I have grown to absolutely love the college life. My first year was a little tough for a few reasons, but it was also very fun.

I grew up just 12 miles north of Terre Haute, so Indiana State was the obvious college choice for me since I wanted to stay close to home.

Even though ISU was the right choice for me, I did a lot of things the wrong way my freshman year.

I started off on the wrong foot in a major way.

I'm an impatient person, so the first time I made my way to the ninth floor of Blumberg, I made my family take the stairs so we wouldn't have to wait for the elevator. I got over that impatience by carrying that first box up the stairs. The line for the elevator suddenly didn't seem so long.

Luckily, I have now survived two years of college without having to deal with a bad roommate. That being said, I can't exactly speak from personal experience about what it's like to have a bad roommate, but believe me, I've heard stories from my friends who have had to deal with these disrespectful and sometimes outright disgusting people (that sounds a bit harsh, but it is true).

Michael Steele publicly spoke out against 20 percent of the Republican base, claiming the party didn't need them.

Anyway, two years ago was the summer before I started college. I did not realize it at the time, but that was the summer I began to be me.
