Sycamores kick off season Thursday

Starting quarterback still undetermined going into first game

The starting quarterback for the Sycamore football team is … a game-time decision. The Sycamores' season begins 7 p.m. Thursday at Eastern Michigan and ISU first-year head coach Trent Miles isn't naming a starting quarterback yet. The options are whittled down to freshman Calvin Schmidtke, freshman Matt Seliger and freshman Travis Johnson.

Offensive coordinator brings experience, knowledge to Sycamores' young offense

Newly appointed offensive coordinator Bill Diedrick's résumé does not fit here at Indiana State University. After 30 years of coaching among the ranks of elite college teams and players, including a one-year stop for the Toronto Argonauts in the Canadian Football League, Diedrick has an impressive coaching background that would land him a job at with just about any football organization.
