Students race to put condoms on correctly during the Sex Olympics, sponsored by Tau Kappa Epsilon and the Residence Hall Association. The event featured various games that were paralell to the issue of sex. The Sex Olympics was part two in a four-part event series.

Resident Hall Association and Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity have teamed up all this week to promote Sex Week, a campus-wide promotion to engage ISU students and teach them risks involved with alcohol and sex.

"We are trying to raise awareness about sexually transmitted diseases and to give students the facts," said Dana Davies, RHA president.

Activities are being held all week in various locations to encourage students to participate and learn about STDs and the risks of alcohol use.

Monday's event was a mock house party in Mills Hall.

"The students played drinking games with water and had mocktails—which are non-alcoholic drinks that look like drinks you would get at a bar or party," Davies said.

TKE president Andrew Johnson explained his fraternity's involvement with the events.

"We are just assisting RHA in getting the word out," Johnson said. "We're helping them run the programs that promote sex awareness."

Johnson felt Monday night's program went well and there was a good turnout.

"The students seemed pretty interested in the information that RHA was giving out," he said.

There were several events according to Crystle Hall which include: Condom races (who can put a condom on a wooden penis fastest), 3-legged race and Bob for cherries in whip cream.

"The turnout was really good," Hall said, "Things went real well, a lot of people have come out."

They had teams of six people to compete all of these events,  Hall said.

"We had to get all the teams set up and checked in, " Hall said "but overall things went really well."

Seth Denny a sophomore education major and a member of TKE was heavily involved in the production of sex week and its success.

"The point was to have a lot of people show up and be aware of everything going on that is sex-related."
