Natural Cures

A couple of days ago, I saw an infomercial on television about "Natural Cures" book by Kevin Trudeau.

He was very convincing about how natural cures are safer abd have no side effects.

I have always been a firm believer of natural cures. I take herbal supplements before I take any artificial drugs, but sometimes it is impossible to only rely on herbs.

I am certain I could not have gotten through my kidney removal surgery successfully without drugs.

Nor could I have gotten over many of the illnesses I have had without them.

So I feel that sometimes they are necessary, but I also think that they are very overused.

I also don't think it is right that caffeine is added into soft drinks so that people get addicted and need to buy it more, resulting in more money paid to those companies.

I especially don't think it is good for the children because they really don't understand how to limit their consumption of soda.

All they know is that it is sugary and tastes good so they don't worry about the side effects and dependency that can occur with caffeine consumption.

Despite some of the times I have needed drugs, there are also times I wish I hadn't used them. For example, I have been through three sets of antibiotics, back-to-back, because of a swollen lymph node in my neck.

I just finished that last round about three days ago and my neck is still the same.

It started to get a little bit smaller while I was on the antibiotics, but soon after I stopped using them, it got big again.

I didn't only waste my time and money on those antibiotics; I also possibly suppressed my immune system which may cause me to get sick even easier than I already do.

I'm certainly not an expert on this type of thing though.

I am just going off of what I have read online. But learning these kinds of things just further confirms my skeptics of unnatural medicines.

I also believe in Trudeau's idea that "they" don't want you to know about the natural cures.

The makers of medicine make way too much money on people that are addicted to certain drugs.

However, that is their job and it is how they make a living.

In fact, I have wanted to go into the health profession; I am still undecided on my major though so I still have time to think about it.

I want to go into it not because of the money made off of people taking drugs for the rest of their lives, but because I want to take care of people.

That is why I have decided to try to steer in a non-drug related direction in the health profession, if that is where I decide to go with my life.

I still have a lot of thinking to do before I decide what I am doing and I feel like I am running out of time.
