Sycamores earn multiple wins over spring break at the Rebel Games

The Sycamore softball team (10-5) earned five wins over spring break in Orlando, Fla. at the Rebel Games.

The Sycamores started with wins over Youngstown State, Sacred Heart and Detroit Mercy.
Against Detriot Mercy, freshman pitcher Kristen Felker got the win for the Sycamores, allowing just one hit and striking out eight batters over five innings.

With the wins, the Sycamores extended their win streak to eight games after starting off the season with three straight losses.

However, the Sycamores could not extend the streak to nine games as they fell 3-1 to Fairfield.

The Sycamores rebounded with a 4-0 win over Lehigh Univeristy.

Sophomore pitcher Lindsey Beisser won her first game of the season with a complete game shutout. Beisser allowed no walks and struck out nine batters for the win.

The Sycamores then split their final two games, falling to Loyola of Chicago 1-0 before defeating Bryant 3-1.

Against Bryant, Beisser threw a complete game, striking out six batters.

The final game of the tournament against Wagner was rained out.

The Sycamores ended the tournament with a 5-2 record.

The Sycamores will next be in action Wednesday when they return home to host a doubleheader against Southeast Missouri State.

The first game is scheduled for 3 p.m. at Price Field with the second game scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
